Install Mailspring on Ubuntu
This post explains how to install Mailspring on Ubuntu. Mailspring is a stylish new email client. It is same as Nylas mail. As the the Nylas Mail has officially discontinued, Mailspring is a new version by one of its developers.
Mailspring is a rewritten fork of Nylas Mail using a C++ engine, which has the same subscription model and pro features. It is said to be faster and powerful than Nylas Mail (known as Nylas N1).
Install Mailspring
Please check out the following steps to install it on your Ubuntu system. You can download the latest version of Mailspring from here:
Download Mailspring for Ubuntu
wget https://mailspring-builds.s3.amazonaws.com/client/9448c884/linux/mailspring-1.0.6-amd64.deb sudo dpkg -i mailspring-1.0.6-amd64.deb sudo apt install -f
It will install Mailspring on your Ubuntu system. Mailspring uses 50% less RAM and it is capable to sync the emails faster. Also its battery consumption is very low.
There are many themes available for Mailspring. You can use Nylas mail themes too. It supports multiple accounts ( Google Apps, Yahoo, IMAP & Office 365) along with touch and gesture support. It also provides read receipts and link tracking. The mail search is very fast.
Uninstall Mailspring (optional)
You can uninstall Mailspring using the following commands:
sudo apt remove mailspring sudo apt autoremove
Mailspring is available for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu. You can download it from the download page of Mailspring website. Also, the source code is available on GitHub.
